Acupuncture is a healing modality that has existed for over 3000 years. By stimulating the body's innate ability to heal, acupuncture helps restore balance in the body, not only working as a preventative measure, but also providing relief from many conditions, including pain, stress, emotional/mental imbalances, fatigue, digestive concerns and hormonal imbalances. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes acupuncture as effective in treating over 32 diseases.

With the oldest text dating back to 220 BC, the Chinese Materia Medica is astounding. With over 13,000 single herbs and roughly 100,000 recipes, Traditional Chinese Medicine employs herbs in order to help bring the body back into balance. Claire may not use all 100,000 formulas, but there are many fabulous herbal formulas to assist in healing autoimmune conditions, digestive and hormonal issues, mental/emotional imbalances, pain and musculoskeletal issues, and even formulas for hair growth and longevity!
With the first recorded mention of Moxa use in 581 BC, we know that Moxa is Magic! Well, not so magical that we don’t know how it works. We know that by burning the herb Mugwort on or close to the skin, we are creating an infrared heat signal that stimulates a healing response. In Chinese Medicine, we use it to warm channels, decrease inflammation, and even help bruising!

Cupping and Gua Sha are two amazing parts of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cupping dates back over 3000 years and was even used in Ancient Egypt!
Cupping is used to help increase circulation, decrease inflammation, and even stimulate the production of Heme Oxygenase-1 which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, and neuromodulatory effects! Gua sha produces the same enzyme but uses a different technique. They both feel amazing and are great ways to stimulate your own body’s healing response!

What are 2 things that we do every day, at least 3 times a day? That's right, eat and drink. What we put into our bodies has a lot to do with how we feel. In Chinese Medicine depending on your constitution and your imbalances, you will eat or limit certain foods. Since we all have different patterns going on in our bodies, during your first consultation, Claire will inquire about dietary habits, and will give you recomendations based on what she finds going on in your body. The old saying is truer than we tend to think; You are what you eat!
Let's be honest, not everyone likes needles. If you are one of these people, then you are in the right place! Medical Qi Gong, Reiki, and IET are just a few example of needle free treatments. Claire has been practicing energy work for 20 years. Along with her Reiki Master/Teacher Certification, she has explored many other types of energy work, including Medical Qi Gong, and Integrated Energy Therapy.
